Ramah Presbyterian Preschool offers a Christian-based learning center for families with three, four and five -year olds. We provide quality care and a preschool education that enriches children spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially.
We encourage each child to develop a never-ending love of learning. Ramah's Preschool curriculum supports each child's development in:
* a sense of self in one's relationship to God and others
* motor development
* language and listening skills
* science and the natural world
* creative art, music and dramatic play
* math skills
* social skills
* religious concepts and
* community outreach
There are 60 children in the preschool. The Caterpillar class is for three-year olds. The Butterfly class is for four- year olds. We have three Caterpillar classes and three Butterfly classes. Each of these classes has eight students with one teacher. We also offer a transitional kindergarten class designed for children who need an extra year before entering kindergarten. To be eligible for this class, a child must be five by December 31st of the current year. There are twelve children in this class with one teacher. Because of our small size, the children receive a lot of individual attention. We believe that one of our strengths is our ability to nourish each child and his/her family.
Parents are required to volunteer for one week during the school year. This is a great opportunity for parents to get a first-hand look at their child's preschool day. Parents are welcome anytime; we especially enjoy the times when they can read to the class.
The Preschool runs September through May. We observe the same holidays and teacher workdays as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools.
Caterpillars attend school Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am to noon. Tuition is $140. Butterflies attend Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to noon. Tuition is $187 and includes a Monday Lunch Bunch time from noon to 1:00 pm. There is an optional Lunch Bunch offered each day. The Transitional Kindergarten Class attend Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Tuition is $238.
